Joseph Guy McCrone, Jr., age 91 of Sevierville, TN. passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean Snapp McCrone, his parents Joseph and Margaret McCrone and four sisters, Margaret, Claudia, Florence and Dorothy.
He was born on February 21, 1919 in Washington, D.C. where he grew up and was retired from the power company there. He moved to Sevierville in 1989 with his wife, as he had fallen in love with her hometown and the surrounding mountains. He was filled with the joy of life and always stopped to smell the Roses. He loved people, pets, wildlife, gardening and travel with his wife, Jean. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a participant in the D-Day Invasion at Normandy. He loved God, his family and his country. He has gone to reunite with his beloved wife, Jean in the presence of the Lord in Heaven.
He is survived by his sons, Joseph G. McCrone III and Dennis A. McCrone and wife, Sandra, his loving step- daughter, Susan E. Reagan and grandson, Christopher McCrone and special friend, Monkus.
The graveside service was held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Shiloh Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Lowe officiating. Military honors were presented by the U.S. Navy and local American Legion Post 104.
