COPE, STEVEN WAYNE – age 60, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, December 1, 2008, at Parkwest Hospital. He was a member of Middlebrook Pike United Methodist Church and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid outdoorsman and photographer. Proceeded in death by parents, Rev. Charles Edward and Mildred Roberts Cope and mother-in-law Thelma McDaniel Carroll. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara Carroll Cope; Daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and John Overbey of Asheville, NC, Rebecca and Marc Loffredo of Knoxville; granddaughter, Madelynne Loffredo; Sister, Jan Cate and husband, Johnnie; Brothers, James C. Cope and wife Sharon and Larry V. Cope all of Knoxville; Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kay Carroll McCarter and husband, Larry, Rhonda Carroll Byrd and husband, Eddie; Father-in-law, Millard J. Carroll; Nieces and nephews, Dustin Melton and wife, Jennifer; Allison Wheeler and husband, Beetle; Craig Byrd and fiancée, Kari; Erin Swatzel and husband, Joe ; Whitney Byrd and wife, Kristi; Andrea Ely and husband, Kirk; and Sarah Young and husband, Tom;. Also several aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews
Receiving of friends will be held Friday, December 5th from 5pm-7pm.at Highland Memorial Funeral Home, 5315 Kingston Pike, with funeral immediately following. Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 6th at 10 am at Highland Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Eric Reiger officiating. Full Military Honors by The State Honor Guard. Pallbearers: John Overbey, Marc Loffredo, Craig Byrd, Dustin Melton, Mike Weber, Richard Blazier, Steve Foster and John Gick
