Ben Lewis Burns, 84, of Fayetteville, Ga., died March 25, 2005.
Born in Boyds Creek, he was the son of William C. Burns and Nina (Catlett) Burns and the grandson of Edmund Burns and Sallie (McCroskey) Burns.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp and piloted after World War II as a commercial pilot.
He attended the Fellowship Baptist Church in Fairburn, Ga.
He leaves his wife Joan Gray Burns; children, Nena Dragoo, of Yucaipa, Calif., Cherie (Rusty) Thompson, of Newton Centre, Mass., Garey Burns, of Atlanta, Glenn Burns, of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Sally Heintz, of Fayetteville. He also leaves several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at the Chapel of Carl J. Mowell & Son in Fayetteville. The Rev. Wallace McAbee will officiated.
Interment will be at Trundles Crossroads Cemetery in Seymour, on Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at 1 p.m.
