Samuel Alfred Sutton, age 77, of Newport, died Sunday, February 16, 2003, at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Balum and Dicie Ogle Sutton; sister, Dola Valentine; and brothers, Harrison, Leonard, Otis, and Mitchell Sutton.
He is survived by his sisters, Bessielee Gladys Black, of Gastonia, NC, and Lillie Mae Stanley, of Newport; also many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Manes Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Billy Sutton and Rev. Roy Phillips officiating.
Interment will be in the Fowler Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
