Resided in Walden's Creek, TN
Ann L. Fox, age 83 of Walden's Creek in Sevier County, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at UT Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Walden's Creek and a descendant of the Shular's and Emert's of that area. She developed a strong work ethic when at the age of nine, she was pulled from school to cook and care for her mother. Ann also helped cook for her father's logging employees helping to further her cooking skills, which led to a career as a much sought after cook in the area. After retiring in 1990 from 28 years of continuous service at the original "Apple Tree Inn Restaurant", she and George, her husband of 55 years, were able to enjoy their passion for square dancing and made many friends. For several years, they performed on Market Square for the Dogwood Arts Festival.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Fox; parents, Arthur and Emma Shular; brother and sisters-in-law, James and Ellen, Vern and Helen, Carl and Laurel Marie; brother, Junior; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Joy Clabo.
Survivors: Sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Amanda, Roger and Janice, Al and Marie; her son, keeper, caregiver and "Her Baby", Arnold; grandchildren, Matt, Ethan and George, Wesley and Andrew; sisters-in-law, Beatrice Shular and Ray Gilreath; brother-in-law, Porter Fox and wife, Billie; many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Funeral service 4 pm Sunday, December 28th in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm Sunday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
