Ray Fox, 84, of Sevierville, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at Sevier County Health Care Center. Ray served in the Army during World War II and received the Bronze Star. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Eugene and Sophia Ailey Fox; brothers, Eugene and Bill Fox and sister, Aileen Fox Caylor. Ray is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mae Smelcer Fox; son, Max A. Fox; grandchildren, Angela, Michael, and Alan Fox; brother, J.T. Fox and wife Ruby; and several nieces, nephews and friends. Service was on Thursday at Rawlings Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Carr officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. Friday at Murphy's Chapel Cemetery.
