Notes

Marion attended Murphy College in Sevierville, Tennessee following high school. He served on the Equalization Board, was Census Enumerator, and was elected to serve on the Road Commision of Sevier County, Tennessee in 1908. An avid genealogist, Marion collected data on the Valentine and allied families, most of which was lost when his house in Jones Cove, Sevier County, Tennessee burned while he was away in Knoxville, Tennessee during the 1920s.

Buried in Aaron Proffitt Cemetery.
